This event is part of the Transatlantic Climate Bridge of the German Ministry for Environment and Federal Foreign Office and a collaboration by adelphi, Stiftung 2°, and We Mean Business. In anticipation of the 2022 German G7 Presidency, representatives from business, government, and civil society congregated to discuss the following questions:
- Considering progress made in recent weeks on the First Mover’s Coalition, the Global Methane Pledge, and the US-EU carbon-based sectoral agreement on steel and aluminum trade, what is the outlook for transatlantic climate cooperation in 2022?
- What should Germany prioritize during its G7 presidency in 2022? What do businesses expect from the G7 presidency?
- How can businesses on both sides of the Atlantic cooperate to drive decarbonization?
- What climate-related challenges do German/European companies face in the US and vice versa? What support do businesses need from government in order to hit their increasingly ambitious climate targets?
