The Transatlantic Climate Bridge facilitates and promotes transatlantic cooperation on climate between Germany, Canada, and the United States. To reach this goal, the TCB has organized several rounds of study tours over the last decade, bringing American and Canadian subnational legislators to Germany to learn about Germany’s energy transition and to create space for mutual exchange of climate policy ideas. The trips have allowed discussions on challenges, opportunity to share best practices, and enabled legislators to identify actions to potentially bring back home.

In collaboration with the Council of State Governments (CSG) - Midwest, a non-partisan association of state officials from 11 US states and 4 Canadian provinces and co-organizers of the study trips, the TCB hosted a study trip follow-up event during the TCB Conference 2023. The event, held in Ottawa, featured past participants who discussed their experiences on the trip, the benefits of transatlantic dialogue to further energy and climate policy, lessons learned, and any inspirations they have passed on to colleagues at home.
