On October 20, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany - Vancouver Office, along with  representatives from each participating city, hosted the digital event, Transatlantic Climate Bridge: Climate-friendly urban food systems for Dortmund, Vancouver and Pittsburgh. Invited speakers from government, civil society, and business addressed some of the pressing challenges that climate change presents for urban food systems, and identified opportunities for transatlantic solutions to such challenges. Panellists explored what municipalities can do to increase urban food system resilience to climate shocks, what cities can do to improve the sustainability of food production and agricultural practices, and possibilities to regionalize food supply chains.
